The Refuge is a place to serve, nourish, clothe, guide spiritually and help the people get back on their feet.
The Community Center is like a "diamond in the rough", a glimpse of hope surrounded by such despair.

The Refuge
The Refuge is located about 3 miles from the Douglas, Arizona border in the middle of
Agua Prieta.
It was built about 8 years ago and is composed of a kitchen, dining hall, showers, barbershop and a few smaller rooms suitable for sleeping.
Before anyone eats, Doug shares a short message from the Bible, and then we serve a crowd, varying from 25-45, a free hearty breakfast. The Refuge is also a place where we can offer a decent shower, a shave, a free haircut, clothes and most importantly, the Word of God.
The people that we serve are usually jobless and/or homeless. Some come once and we never see them again; others are regulars. The majority has little to no steady resources and sometimes no other place to go.
